THE FOSSILS OF ARKANSAS
Take a walk through time with Geologist, Camille Gernhart, as she presents "The Fossils of Arkansas". We will explore how Arkansas changed from a shallow sea over 400 million years ago to our modern day environment. You will have an opportunity to explore all the physiographic regions of Arkansas and handle several of these fossils!
Gernhart received her Master of Science degree in Geology from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville in 2004. She worked for a short time as a wellsite geologist before spending 12 years as an Underground Coal Mine Inspector and Roof Control Specialist for the U.S. Department of Labor. In February 2018 she joined the Arkansas Geological Survey as a Geologist focusing on Educational Outreach. She is married and has 3 children ranging in age from 5 to 14. She has a Papillon named Astro and a French Bulldog named Babs. The bravest thing Camille feels she ever did was skydive! She has traveled 43 states and 12 foreign countries with more trips being planned!
