The various audio and video files below are all related to programs sponsored or co-sponsored by the SAHPS. These files consist of radio interviews and excerpts from formal presentations about subjects such as World War One, slavery, the American South, local history, mass migrations, War Between The States and feuding. The March 20, 2014 lecture by Rice University historian Dr. John Boles discussed the changing historical perspectives on slavery in the American South. Funding for this program was provided by the Arkansas Humanities Council. This segment discusses the important role of slaves in the cultivation of rice in South Carolina and Georgia.
