Terry Winschel, former park historian at the Vicksburg National Military Park, drew a crowd of almost 80 people to the SouthArk Library Auditorium on November 7th. The lecture covered importance of the Vicksburg campaign and its strategic value to the outcome of the War Between the States. The event was the 5th in the series co-sponsored by SouthArk and the S. Arkansas Historical Foundation. Our thanks to the Arkansas Humanities Council for providing the funding that made the educational program possible. As always the speakers series was free and open to the public.
